The late, great Oscar....

This is Oscar. Oscie. The Boo-Boo Head. Spaghetti-eating, crazy-barking leader of the shih tzu rodeo. And most of all a beloved member of my friend's family.  Our pets are so intertwined in our lives.  When they leave us, there are so many moments we miss...so many holes in our day.  Oscar was such a dog.  He had more than his fair share of personality and was such a sweetie.  The baby of the family. King of lap-sitting.  Oscar lived a long and wonderful 16 years and will be missed terribly.

Dottie, if only I could paint the soul of a dog like you do. Thank you for sharing -- even if it did make me cry!

Such a beautiful painting, and beautiful sentiments for such a beautiful and loving family friend. He is playing happily, though, over at the Rainbow Bridge, where my Mollie girl and all my other furry friends (of the feline and canine variety) are playing. They're missed, but they're always with us, in our hearts. Thanks for sharing this.
