Shirley's Snowy Stomping Ground

This painting was a commission for a Christmas present.  It is the home of Shirley, the mother of a friend of mine.  It's from a picture taken last year during one of our infrequent snows.  Shirley is one of my very favorite people.   A beautiful, plain-spoken, feisty, salt-of the-earth kind of woman.  She laughs loud and talks loud.  Hugs your neck the first time she meets you.  She can do more and work harder than most women half her age. She is larger than life and knows how to live life large.   A true gem of a girl!  I call this her stomping ground because not only is this her home it also houses her business and she rules it all!  Merry Christmas, Shirley from one of your many admirers!
