I painted a couple of smaller hydrangea paintings a couple of weeks ago (both of which sold YAY!!) and decided to work on a larger version.  This is the grand hydrangea finale!  I wanted soft edges and really had fun with my brushstrokes in this one.  As always, lots of color in this!

I love everything about this painting, Dottie. I love the colours - blues and purples, in all their shades and hues, are my favourite two colours in the world - the subtle and gentle shadows and light, and the composition itself is so beautiful and gentle and captivating. It's cheered me up on a day when I sorely needed some cheering up. It's the next best thing to actually having this beautiful vase of flowers sitting right in front of me, making me smile to just to look at them, and take in their gentle perfume. Thanks, Dottie, for sharing this, and for the delight it's given me.

Dottie, beautiful painting. My favorite colors and flower. Love that you painted on a large canvas. I have to push myself to be brave and paint large.
