"Through the Seasons: Charlotte's Greenways".... a pARTners group art exhibition

Today is the kickoff for a show that I am in with eight other Charlotte artists.  We have formed a group, pARTners, to do group art exhibitions in galleries around the southeast based around a local community cause or event.

This is our first exhibition, "Through the Seasons:  Charlotte's Greenways".  It is at RedSky Gallery in Charlotte and is the culmination of a years worth of research and work from all of us.  In addition, RedSky Gallery is donating 10% of the proceeds to the Carolina Thread Trail which works with Mecklenburg County to create and maintain the trails in Charlotte's extensive Greenways.

And let me tell you, there are miles and miles of greenways!  I had such a wonderful time checking out a lot of them while I was trying to pull a body of work together.  There was so much material to work from that it was hard to decide what to paint... but I am really happy with the body of work.

For those of you that are near Charlotte, I hope you will come out and see the exhibition.  The opening reception is tomorrow night, Oct. 11th from 6-8:30 but the art will be hanging at RedSky until November 9th.  For those of you that can't make it, I have included a link to our pARTners website here: so you can see all of the works and learn more about us.  And here are my twelve paintings that are in the show....
 "Charlotte at first blush"

 "cloaked in spring"

 "dandelion wishes"

 "fields of clover"

 "the courtship"

 "wildflowers in blue"

 "above the treetops"

 "impression of an afternoon"

 "in the weeds"

 "twists and turns"

"a glance to the right"

"bridge at first light"
