Today I am in Greensboro, NC teaching a workshop so I knew I needed to paint this one yesterday. After a gray morning, the sun finally made an appearance. The setting sun really lights up my neighbor's oak tree and it was a perfect subject to paint. But as evening light has a way of doing... it changed quickly. Faster than I could paint. I got the light on the tree trunk down and the cascade of lit leaves and then the light was gone. So the rest is from memory. It is proving to be a good exercise in observation.
