"out of line"

How about this for a noontime temperature on the first day of March?  I'm not sure it can be beat! I talked my studio mate into going to paint with me at a local farm with some of my regular plein air buds.  It was just too nice to stay in the studio and paint.  And I have to say, the drive out to the farm with the radio cranked up, the windows rolled down and the top down on the jeep was pure joy :)

I have painted this barn before.   I am always taken with it's crooked form and boards all askew.  I had fully intended on painting something else when I got there but I just couldn't resist it once again.  I also was momentarily mesmerized by the drama in the sky and had to stop midway through blocking in my painting to try and capture the clouds.

It was such a lovely afternoon spent painting and catching up with friends.  Not to mention the peacefulness and wonderful clean, earthy smell of farmland.   The smell of hay and feed and good dirt.  It just takes me back to being a little girl on my grandmother's farm.  And then there was this guy playing peek-a-boo with cute is he??

Have I told you? ...I love my job!'"
